Wagashi Workshop (Beginner) – Making Nerikiri

January 27 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

€28,00 – €60,00

We’re so grateful that Yukako Yasuda (Founder of Momotose Wagashi Studio, instructor, and cookbook author) came all the way from Tokyo to host her 1 part tasty 1 part beautiful Wagashi Workshop. Wagashi is a traditional Japanese confection usually served with Japanese green tea made from simple ingredients such as rice, beans, and sugar.

Join us for a traditional Japanese Wagashi-making workshop where we’ll express Japan’s four seasons through Nerikiri sweets. We’ll begin with a discussion on Japanese Wagashi culture, followed by a demonstration. Then, you’ll get hands-on experience creating four Nerikiri sweets. Finally, you’ll enjoy these treats with a cup of Japanese tea. You can take the leftovers home, encapsulating the essence of Japan’s four seasons.

PS: If you have already attended last year’s wagashi making workshop, and would like to improve your wagashi making skills and learn how to make the Anko – the Japanese sweet red bean paste, we are organising the Advanced version this time!

Standard Ticket gives you the access to the 1.5h Wagashi Making workshop. It includes all the materials you will need to make wagashi during the workshop. You will be able to take away the wagashis that you make with you after the workshop. Please note that it does NOT include a Japanese made “Sankaku-bo” triangle wood wagashi making tool to take home with.

For the ones who would like to take the Japanese made “Sankaku-bo” wood triangle wagashi making tool home so that you can enjoy making wagashi at home, please purchase the [Add-On] when you check out.
