Cold Dew Autumn Reverie – Autumn Tea Party

As we step into October, approaching “Cold Dew  寒露” – the 17th of the 24 solar periods in the traditional Chinese lunisolar calendar that marks the transition into autumn, we would like to share a new collaboration and special brewing session for the 1st weekend of October: Cold Dew Autumn Reverie – our Autumn Tea Party. For this collaboration we will be pairing unique tea snacks made by the talented Hoang with our favorite top shelf teas rarely seen outside of China/Taiwan curated such as Taiwanese High Mountain Red Teas grown above 1800m and Yancha made by Master You Yuqiong – the only female inheritor of the national intangible cultural heritage Wuyi Rock Tea (Dahongpao) production techniques – all curated and brewed by our Head Tea Brewer Yiling.

Under the traditional Chinese law of nature, usually after the “Cold Dew 寒露”,  the day grows shorter, the heat slowly recedes and the temperature difference between day and night is larger. Here in Finland it’s equivalent to the “Ruska” season. We find this transition inspiring and will honor this time with teas and snacks that represent this season.

There will be a two tea menus of 3 selected teas – classic & premium, using smokless charcoal as the heating source for the water.

In each menu, we will be enveloped in an inspiring sensory experience, starting with a beautiful High Mountain Red tea grown by Farmer Chen above 1800m with notes of fermented orchid and sweet honey. Then we will travel to Mt. Wuyi to feel the essense of the rock rhythm and floral fragrance (岩骨花香) in traditional master roast and unique niche cultivars.  For the premium menu, we will bring out our highest grades of Master You Yuqiong’s own cultivar – Yu Qiong & Gold Sakayamuni (Jin Fo).
