Sundown Social Club // 05 – Meditative Ambient Journey

We’re honored to have O.U. aka talented audiovisual duo Oona Säde and Utkarsh Raut in the Lab for our fifth and final Sundown Social Club of the year 2023 – Meditative Ambient Journey! We’ve been wanting to work with this duo ever since we conceived of Sundown Social Club. After playing in festivals, even as recently as AANIAALTO Sound and New Media Festival, we’re excited to have them bring their beautifully meditative audiovisual experience to our humble Tearoom.

Oona will be crafting an ambient meditative session around her song “eclipse season slowdown” alongside an audio reactive light experience designed by Utkarsh for the tea space and time. In this session Oona will lead a guided meditation then perform her song through her singing, drumming, and electronic recordings. We will be brewing curated teas to lead into and close the experience.

A yin-yang culmination of Oona Säde Räyhäntausta and Utkarsh Raut, O.U is an independent collective studying the felt unseen in an ethereal yet accessible form – bringing forth their diverse, erratic tastes and specialities together. Oona Säde is an audiovisual performance artist, singer and channeler. In addition to creating atmospheric, emotional worlds, her interests include writing, drawing and exploring the connection between the physical and the metaphysical. Utkarsh Raut is a visual engineer and storyteller. Forever a curious student of imminent media and methodologies, he hones in on listening better, making narrativized mixes for online radios, ambient films and generative graphics – while seeking the middle path in life.
