Diversity of Japanese Tea (feat.low&no caffeine teas )

January 24 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

€30,00

There’s more to Japanese tea than just Matcha and green tea.
Ever since tea was first introduced from China in the 8th century, Japan has carved its own unique path in the tea world. At Nari we strive to showcase farmers and artisans pushing the conceptions of what tea may be. In the past year we’ve gotten many requests for low/no caffeine alternatives, and while Japan is most known for producing caffeine rich green teas, there’s a whole other side of Japanese tea production to uncover and taste.

This Japan Fest, your guide Uyo Okabe (Tea producer, Tea Art festival curator, and founder of Japan Tea Brewers Championship) will be highlighting the beauty and diversity of Japanese teas, through not only sharing the usual staples of Japanese tea, but also through exploring the world of low and no caffeine teas from around the bountiful island. This includes various bancha like Iri Bancha and Sannen aged Bancha, and very interesting caffeine free tea rarely seen in the west from Akita called Kuromoji made from Japanese Rosewood tree.

This event is a great way for new and seasoned tea lovers to learn more about the world of Japanese tea.
