Chastronomy | The Art of Fine Tea and Food Pairing

A culinary experience coming from the tea fields of Shizuoka to Nari Tea LAB in Helsinki.

Chastronomy /chaˈstrɒnəmi/, originally conceived by Tea Producer and Curator Uyo Okabe in the Shizuoka tea fields, has Chef Mayuko Sasuga and Wagashi Specialist Yukako Yasuda making small dishes and desserts using unique ingredients they are bringing from Japan combined with Finnish local ingredients. All dishes will be skillfully paired with specialty Japanese teas and creative infusions from Tea Farmer Jun Morishita and Uyo Okabe.

Mayuko and Yukako will be creating 5 small savory and sweet dishes including Mayuko’s signature French-Japanese Gallette, specifically paired with 5 Japanese teas and creations including a special tea and sake infusion. All four of the artisans behind Chastronomy: Ea(s)t Meets West, are excited to fuse the finest Japanese and Finnish ingredients to create an Afternoon Tea Pairing to remember.
