Advanced Japanese Tea Brewing

After many requests last year from guests, Uyo Okabe, the founder of the Japan Tea Brewers Championship, will be teaching both a Fundamental and an Advanced Brewing Techniques workshop.

This workshop is for those who are already familiar with brewing Japanese Senchas and the Kyusu, and are looking to grow their understanding of how tea can be brewed. This workshop starts in your home – modelled after one of the Japan Tea Brewers Championship challenges, Uyo will give each of you a 50g of a mystery blended sencha for you to analyze and develop your preferred brewing method and parameters. This workshop will start with a discussion of all the participants approach to brewing, then Uyo will go into his approaches.

Uyo will also cover alternative ways of brewing such as ice brewing, and the more modern double kyusu blended brew,etc. This is your chance to expand your brewing imagination to all new possibilities!

The standard ticket includes the access to the workshop, as well as the 50g tea that you will receive in advance to experiment at home before the workshop. All the materials and brewing instrument will be provided during the workshop.
