BREW & SHAKE – Tea Cocktail Mixology
This summer, Uyo Okabe, our tea producer friend and core member of Nari Japan Fest, will also be returning! And he will be hosting BREW & SHAKE – Tea Cocktail Mixology at El Fant Café & Bar.
It’s no secret, we believe Tea is a special and never ending source of inspiration in Mixology. Little known fact is that we got ideas from Uyo for our original Tea Cocktail popup 4 years ago so this tasting has been a long time coming. Uyo will first go over the taste methodology behind different tea – alcohol infusion pairings such as Awabancha and Sake (amongst others, we don’t want to ruin the surprise. Then he’ll put the Mix in mixology, adding complementary flavors to the infusions getting them to their final form.
Throughout the experience you’ll be tasting 4-5 different infusions and cocktails using tea from across the Japanese tea spectrum – Sencha, Hojicha, Genmaicha and yes even Awabancha.
It’ll be a Tea Party in every sense of the words 🙂
