Nari Tea Residency is a new program at Nari, inviting tea residents throughout the year to host tea-related and tea-inspired events in their own voice — including tastings, workshops, talks, tea parties, and other gatherings shaped by tea as culture, practice, and inspiration.
We are glad to begin this new program with Gatsby as our first tea resident, opening the residency with a three-Sunday series in March. This first session, The Art of Tea and Inspiration, explores tea as a source of attention, reflection, and creative spark.
How does inspiration work?
How did tea inspire poets and artists in the past? How can you be inspired by tea?
For centuries tea has accompanied writers, painters and thinkers. In this small Sunday workshop we will look at a few tea-related works and explore how paying close attention to the sensory experience of tea can open space for inspiration.
Some materials for writing and few art supplies, such as colour pencils, paper and collage tools will be available. Please bring your own materials if you are able.
We will spend the afternoon with a carefully chosen tea, taking the time to explore it slowly together 🍵.
Maximum 10 persons. Walk-in, no reservation and no previous experience needed.
The event is donation based, and you are welcome to contribute onsite by cash or MobilePay.

ABOUT GATSBY
After ten years exploring tea in Fujian, China, Gatsby has been back in Helsinki guiding people in the quiet arts of flavour and scent. Part lecturer, part explorer, she is in a unique position to bring the essence of tea closer to us all. Tea is her daily language, and her enthusiasm for tea is contagious, as you will soon find out!
